Grammer of Film and Television

As every language has its own grammer, Film and Television has its own separate grammer. which comprises of different shots (like words in English), different shots combine together to make a sequence (like sentences in English) and different sequences together make a scene (as different sentences make a paragraph)and different scenes make a screenplay (as different paragraphs make a complete story.

What is Shot?

The footage/ film exposed in a film/ video camera between turning it On and Off is called a shot. In a layman term, when u switch on the camera and record something and then put the camera off.. the footage that is recorded in that moment is called a shot.

DIFFERENT CAMERA MOVEMENTS:

1)The movement of Camera from Left to Right and Vice Versa is called Panning of
the camera and we read the command as.. Pan Left or Pan Right

2)The movement of the camera Up and Down is called Tilt UP and Tilt Down.

3)Crane Movement is read as Crane up and Crane Down.

4)Track in and Track out: When we move the camera trolley left to right or right
to left, it is called Track in and Track Out..

5)Ped up and Ped Down... when we move the camera physically on a panther dolley up
or down, the command is called ped up and ped down..

That's it for today, rest I'll right in the next blog..
